If it's the Arts then its For Arts Sake

February 5, 2020

Tune into the EILEEN WALSH Show on Drive Live 105 on Wednesday mornings - where every week we showcase the arts in the North West and beyond.

We’ve a great show lined up for you this Wednesday. Very excited that our Canadian journalist Ric Mullen returns for the first time this year in his regular monthly slot The Naked Politics Show, where we discuss current affairs and topical issues in the buff, Ric that is. We have a bit of an outdoorsy theme going on this week. Passionate, yet gentle eco-warrior Michaela Mc Daid joins us to talk about the healing power of nature and the outdoors, as well as her new ‘Nature in Mind’ ecotherapy group courses through Michaela McDaid Ecotherapy. Leading Hip Hop scholar and academic Adam de Paor-Evans from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) talks to us ahead of the launch of his book Provincial Headz: British Hip Hop and Critical Regionalism, published by Equinox Publishing, described as ‘a must read for any UK hip-hop fan’ by Justin A Williams, Department of Music, University of Bristol. Adam’s book challenges the notion that Hip-Hop Culture is an urban phenomenon, only for city kids. And Chris Scott and Mary Connors join us from the Mica Action Group in County Donegal to give us an update on the crisis that has left an estimated 4,600 homes at risk of falling apart due to defective building blocks.

Plus lots of great music and a round up of arts events in the North West. Every Wednesday morning from 10am-12 on your favourite station.
